Finally i am starting my own bansuri classes 17th Feb 2010 onwards. Yeah... online as well as in my house. For beginners its free online and they need to take prior appointement via email. ( pravingodkhindi@gmail.com)
I have never tried teaching thus far basicaly because i was busy fending for myself. Now that i have a house of my own with a recording studio in the basement, i am kind of relaxed about the livelihood needs and thus can concentrate on teaching. Although teaching is a full-time job i hope my students understand the fact that concerts are my first priority. So, the need to take appointement everytime, unlike most music schools where the timings and days are fixed.
In the near future, i plan to have a gurukul of my own, wherein students get the rare opportunity to stay with the teacher (thats ME -in this case), 24/7 and learn the art whenever the guru/teacher wishes. Here the students will be expected to be dedicated only to learning the flute and nothing else. But the advantage will be that they get to spend a lot of time with the guru(ME again) and thus progress faster than in the other methods.
i sincerely hope to get good students "online" as well as "offline"
